First Days of School

My children already started school.  In our state schools cannot start before Labor Day unless they have a building project scheduled for the following summer.  And as luck would have it, we do.  So last Monday A left me for his first day of 2nd grade.  (sniff, sniff)

That's his new shirt he got from his Cha-Cha (Aunt) Amy.  It changes color in the sun.  VERY cool when you're 7. 

B didn't start school until Tuesday, because she only goes on even days.  I can't believe she started Kindergarten this year!  (Bawling great big tears)  She was so excited though!

It feels like only yesterday that I held her in my arms when I brought her home from the hospital.  She's not allowed to grow up!  I refuse to let her!

She was especially excited to ride the bus by herself.  Of course, her brother was there to watch out for her, but before this the only time she had ridden a school bus was with mom or dad with her.  I missed her terribly that day.  Then I made a bunch of cookies to make myself feel better...and breads...and cake pops...and brownies.  I did a lot of baking that day.

Good thing I had this face waiting for me when I got back from the bus stop, or I might have done something stupid, like get a puppy or something.
