Our working vacation

Last week we made a trip up to Newberry to help my in-laws at their greenhouse. Of course it was 70 degrees down here, so I packed short sleeves, and even some shorts. Someone forgot to warn me that they still had snow in the UP! We were woefully underdressed. Thank goodness for Wal-Mart in the Soo! The kids had tons of fun helping out in the greenhouse. Their favorite was either to feed Nana's goldfish (who is HUGE) or to play at the dirt pile. What kid could resist a huge pile of black dirt? Not mine, that's for sure!

Bella took on the personal mission of smelling every flower she saw...she did a lot of sniffing! She and Alex also each picked out some flowers to plant back here at home. Bella picked out different pink flowers, of course, and Alex picked out yellow marigolds and purple pansies. Overall the trip was lots of fun, but I'm glad to be back home recovering from vacation.

One last note, Moose did surprisingly well on this trip. He didn't get sick once in the car, and behaved pretty well at Nana's house. He didn't like Papa at all, however, and would bark at him all the time. We're not sure why, because Papa has been to our house when Moose was there, and Moose loved him then!

You were more than welcome to take the snow back home with you. Really. We wouldn't have minded at all. We got more on Saturday, so there is plenty to go around. Haha!
