Alex finally got his bed!

When we moved Bella out of her crib last summer, we discovered we had a problem. We had a twin-sized mattress for Alex to sleep on, but no bed frame. Since his room is so small, I wanted to get him a Captain's bed, so we could get rid of his dresser. Unfortunately, I couldn't find one that I liked that was under $400. I even checked Craigslist, but no luck.

Enter handyman hubby. He drew up plans for the bed just the way I wanted them, and then made Alex's bed for me. He did procrastinate for a while, which is why it didn't get done until today. But it's done! It's hard to see in this light, but there are 3 drawers on the bottom. The middle one is about half as wide as the outside two, and so the two outer ones have two pulls each.

Alex is thrilled, while Bella is crying because she wants one too. Mayb next year... Next up for hubby is either the custom end table or the custom bookshelf unit for the den that he's been promising me. :)
