Meet the newest members of our family... Sgt Snuggles and Princess. The kids had received gift cards to Build-a-Bear from my parents for christmas. James and I made the concious decision to wait a while after christmas before using them because a) NO ONE should attempt to brave a mall, and Build-a-Bear in particular, shortly after christmas, and b) we didn't want the bears to get lost in the shuffle of all the other christmas toys. So we took them up yesterday and let them choose their own bears. The funny thing is, I could have picked which bear each kid chose long before we ever set foot in the store. Each bear reflects the kids personalities.
Each bear also got a shirt to wear. It was a good lesson for the kids to learn, because they could have gotten a cheaper bear and a full outfit, or a more expensive bear with only a shirt. Alex especially was weighing out his options, and decided on the army bear, which fell under the "more expensive" category. (But he's really hoping one of his aunts or grandparents will send him another gift card so he can buy the policeman uniform for Sgt Snuggles.)
