Except on cakes. Yes, cakes. We went to 3 major stores, and found only 1 Star Wars cake. And it was very pricey. We couldn't even find a cake topper! So I got creative.
I made chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting, since that's what he requested, and then I created my own cupcake toppers.
Lightsabers!
Okay, the ones in the picture don't look as pretty as most of them I made, but they had been sitting out a while in the heat and humidity, so they needed to be eaten soon.
I used starbursts for the saber part. I used a knife to cut the starbursts in half, and then popped them in the microwave for about 5 seconds, to soften them up. Then I rolled them between my hands to give them the right shape. I dipped the ends into black frosting, and voila! Lightsabers. They were by no means perfect, but to a group of 7 year old boys, they were pretty awesome. :)
