Apple Orchards and Pumpkin Patches

Lately there's been a lot of rain, and so we've had to take advantage of the few sunny days offered to us...even if some of them were bitterly cold! We've headed out to our local apple orchard twice so far. The orchard has a really cool program, where the kids get to "adopt" a tree for free. Then every year they go back and can get one free 1/2 peck bag of apples from their tree. The kids are so proud to have their own tree to pick from.

Bella and her tree.

As you can see, we were prepared for the chill in the air. Luckily, when we went to the pumpkin patch, it wasn't nearly so cold.

There were so many different pumpkins to choose from. The kids went crazy...literally! I had to threaten Alex with not getting a pumpkin at all if he didn't hurry up. We were there looking for his pumpkin for about 45 minutes.
Beautiful Bella pausing for a photo op, even though the sun was in her eyes.

It was hard work, but they hauled their pumpkins (and ours) back to the van by themselves. James and I decided to share a pumpkin this year, since I'm not so much into the carving of them as I am the eating of the seeds. Since I'm really the only one in the family that eats them, I figured 3 pumpkins would give me more than enough of a snack.
