Flowers, flowers everywhere!

This heat, while driving us crazy, has certainly helped my flowers grow and bloom. We have things blooming everywhere in the yard. Right now it's a challenge keeping Bella and Alex from picking all of my flowers. Bella especially. I planted a whole bunch of gladiolus bulbs this spring, and only one came up. I've been waiting patiently for it to bloom, and then today Bella came up to me with a handful of almost-ready-to-bloom flowers from it. James just laughed at it, and after a while, I did too!

The top eight pictures are of daylilies in different areas of the yard. The bottom purple flowers are some clematis, and the other three are different flower beds in my yard.

On a different note, James was making dinner tonight, and he sliced his finger open. He ended up with 5 stitches. I would feel bad for him, except he had cut a different finger with the same knife not even 5 minutes earlier, so he knew those knives were extra sharp. To be fair, what happened was that he accidentally dropped the knife, and Alex went to pick it up and hand it back to him. James grabbed for the knife so that he got to it before Alex did, and ended up grabbing the wrong end. It was his wedding ring finger, and it's wrapped in a bunch of gauze, so when you see him from far away it looks like he's flipping you the bird. He's having fun with that. :)
